Sunny Savers Puts Heads In Beds Online

Talk developed SunnySavers.com, a custom site for the Wilmington Cape Fear Coast Convention & Visitor's Bureau, to boost tourism and rent vacant rooms. The microsite offers last minute travel deals in the greater Wilmington area.

  • A concepting meeting determined the audience's needs:
    • Clear and concise travel deals
    • Map of accommodation locations
    • Information about the accommodations
    • Things to do and see in region
  • A brainstorming session used those needs to inform the look, navigation and features of the site
  • Deals were split into five geographic sections (identified on a prominent map) to make accommodation selection easier
  • The "While You're In Town" section includes links to specific pages on the CVB site, such as the Events Calendar, Attractions, Tours and Restaurants, to help show potential visitors all there is to do in the area
  • Links to the CVB's Facebook fan page, Twitter and RSS feed allow for easy sharing
  • SunnySavers.com was launched and publicized via:
    • CVB's Facebook fan page
    • Tweets on Twitter from client and Talk
    • Press release to local and regional media
    • Social Media News Release distributed to online publications, bloggers and RSS feeds
    • Pitches to targeted travel bloggers
  • The release was picked up online at numerous sites, such as Visitnc.com, CapeFearBusiness.com, Outside.in, HiWilmingon.com and DiscoverWilmingtonNC.com.
  • The CVB's travel partners have increased occupancy and continue to promote their deals on the site
