Talk, Inc. hosts third annual Talkies Awardsto judge best of 2010 Super Bowl ads
Super Bowl ad fans can follow coverage at SuperBowlTalkies.com and vote for their favorite ad in People’s Choice Award
WILMINGTON, N.C. – On Sunday, Feb. 7, Talk, Inc. will host its third annual Talkies Awards to honor the best in Super Bowl advertising. Talk, a creative communications agency headquartered in Wilmington, NC, created the Talkies in 2008 to judge the most expensive–and most watched–ads in the industry. Viewers can also weigh in by voting for their favorite spot in a People’s Choice Award survey online at SuperBowlTalkies.com immediately following the game.
Talk kicked off the 2010 Talkies Awards this week with the redesign and launch of SuperBowlTalkies.com, a website that includes:
· Viral videos and favorite ads from past games
· Preview videos of 2010 Super Bowl ads
· Live Twitter feed showcasing all tweets containing the hashtag #talkies
· Opinion polls for readers to weigh in on their views of Super Bowl advertising
· People’s Choice Talkies Award poll (which will replace the polls immediately following the game)
· Facebook chat feature that allows visitors to comment before and during the game
· Blog feed tracking Talk’s ongoing Super Bowl ad reporting from TalkIncBlog.com
Talk also launched a Talkies Facebook fan page to encourage fans of Super Bowl advertising to share their plans and recipes for the big game, swap photos and discuss their expectations for this year’s creativity.
Super Bowl ad fans can join the festivities by logging on to SuperBowlTalkies.com anytime through game day to chat live and follow the action. Immediately following the game, Talk will host the first People’s Choice Talkies Award, which will allow fans to vote online for their favorite ad of the game.
With Super Bowl ads costing an average of $2.5 to 2.8 million for a 30-second spot, a 10-15 percent decrease from last year’s $3.0 million, every Monday morning quarterback talks about ads as much as, or perhaps even more than, the game.
“Super Bowl ads can be the biggest and most effective investment a major brand can make all year,” said Talk’s President & Creative Director Debbie Elliott. “Just like these spots, the Talkies Awards demonstrate our agency’s ability to generate buzz and connect brands to their audience using social and interactive media strategies.”
Established in 1990, Talk, Inc. is a creative communications agency that helps companies in the Carolinas attract new customers, mitigate issues and increase profits. For more information, visit www.talkinc.com.
