Who We Are

Talk is a full service marketing agency serving companies throughout the Carolinas. We specialize in creating brands and brand strategies that grow businesses.

Through a strategic mix of branding, advertising, publicity, graphic design and marketing, we help our clients find their voice.

What is Project Pet Project?

In 2008, Talk launched an initiative to give voice to those among us who can't speak for themselves - companion animals. Pets improve the quality of life for all who come in contact with them. And some pets take this act of kindness one step further as service and therapy animals. To spotlight the unique contributions of animals that offer physical, medical, emotional or psychological benefits to people in need, Talk launched Project Pet Project.

Simply put, Project Pet Project helps pets that help people.

Beneficiaries

Talk's first Project Pet Project initiative is a partnership with Carolina Canines for Service, a non-profit corporation headquartered in Wilmington, N.C. (where Talk does Website Design, Public Relations, and Internet Marketing). The group provides people with disabilities enhanced independence through the gift of a quality trained service dog. Carolina Canines also trains owners and their pets as registered animal assisted therapy teams who visit nursing homes, hospitals and hospice centers. And it provides peace of mind to victims of domestic violence who need to leave an abusive environment by offering temporary shelter and care for their pets.

Talk works as Carolina Canines' exclusive marketing sponsor, donating time and money to drive its mission through graphic design, public relations and marketing services. Our 2008 sponsorship is valued at more than $20,000.

Why Pets?

The idea for Project Pet Project was borne from Talk's love of pets. Most staffers own a dog or cat themselves, and everyone gets to play parent to Camden, President Debbie Elliott's rescued Schnauzer-mix. Camden is the official "greeter" at Talk's Racine Drive office and spends most of her days inspiring creativity and demonstrating relaxation techniques. She is Talk's "top dog" and is featured on our Web site team page, complete with her own personal bio.

Elliott and Camden recently graduated from Carolina Canines' animal-assisted therapy team training. They plan to visit schools and libraries as a part of the organization's Paws for Reading program that helps children develop their literacy skills by reading to pets.

Carolina Canine's diverse animal programs offered multiple avenues for Talk to help improve the lives of people by supporting pets. We hope that Project Pet Project will spark a desire in other animal lovers to recognize the very important role that animals play in our lives and in the lives of people who need them most.
